Auditons

Contact Admissions at 1-800-4-Luther (1-800-458-8437) or admissions@luther.edu to arrange an audition. You may also contact me if you have any questions about music at Luther.

I would encourage all prospective students to come sit in with the Trombone Choir, Trombone Ensemble, Tuba/Euphonium Ensemble, Jazz Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra, or Concert Band. To set up a visit, you may contact me or the Admissions Office. I would highly recommend propsective students to audition audition during the Christmas at Luther Visit Day or Dorian festivals..

If the distance you live from Luther makes auditioning on campus impractical, the music faculty will accept a high-quality CD, cassette or video recording of a solo, etude, or recital. In any case, scholarship candidates should not pass up opportunities to audition.

Priority Deadline for Auditions - March 1, 2010.

This date can be extended under certain circumstances. Please contact me or the Admissions Office if you have any concerns. If you can't make it to the Luther Campus before the audition deadline, you may still be eligible to receive music scholarships. Send a cassette tape, video tape, CD, or DVD of a recent performance to Dr. Smith.

Audition Materials - you may perform any solo (with or without accompaniment) or etude(s) that best demonstrates your abilities.
